Dragon Swing How To:

If you come here, you probably were directed by my Craftster post... I did this in a hurry but hope to make a better instruction in the future!

This pic was when I was chalking in ideas for the final paint job.

Cut out these shapes, with A and B being the same size... length will be from the back of the finished seat to the pivot point in the middle of the Dragon Cut Out. The holes in the Dragon Cut Out should be just large enough to slide a large dowel into. The handlebars will provide an attachment point for the rope to string it up with, so this must be at least an inch thick, possible more. The foot pegs can be a smaller size.

Sandwich C between A and B, leaving room at the front for the dragon cut out to pivot between and room at the back to attach the tail. Secure with screws.

Slide Dragon Cut Out between A and B and Drill through all three pieces, creating a hole large enough to slide a spacer and a bolt into. The spacer is what the swing will hinge on, so it is essential.

Attach seat with screws to A, B and C.

Paint...

Attach Dragon Cut out by sliding in, matching up the hole and installing spacer, bolt, large washers, nut... then cap the nut.

Attach the tail by counter sinking screws.

Install dowel in handlebar hole, drill one hole each side to install rope, woodglue dowel in place.

install dowel in footrest hole, woodglue in place.

Drill two holes at back corners of seat for rope.

Hang and enjoy!
